About Chief Bob Gloade
I, Chief Bob Gloade, live in Millbrook with my wife and two sons. Thank you for the honor of serving you over the past 24 years, presently with 12 years as your Chief and 12 years prior as your Councillor.
Representing our Band and our membership has been and will always be a most rewarding, humbling and enriching part of my life. I look forward to continuing on this journey as your Chief and I aspire to continue working diligently, together with every one of you, as we progress into the 21st century.
Over the years, I have and continue to represent our community interests with Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq, The Assembly of Nova Scotia Chiefs, Co-Chair/Executive Board and Audit and Finance for Atlantic Policy Congress, Mi’kmaq Family and Community Services, Ulnooweg Development Corp., Mi’kmaq Employment Training Secretariat, Saint Mary’s Indigenous Advisor, First Nations Water Authority and Tajikeimik Mikmaq Health and Wellness.
My educational background and past work experience in business and finance has greatly assisted me in so many ways. I have over 20 years of experience as a small business owner and over 12 years of experience in the Banking Industry, in positions of Account Manager focusing on Small Business, Personal and Aboriginal Banking.
I also graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, in Management and Human Resources/Industrial Relations, and recently, been appointed on the Board of Governors for Saint Mary’s University.
I have and will always continue to work, collectively with our council, to provide opportunities that benefit our Band and communities.
I strive toward increasing our economic successes because it leads to community prosperity for our members now and for our children’s future.
I will also continue to build strong relationships with integrity and determination, to achieve successes that encompass unity, and where we can thrive in a stability that celebrates reconciliation between Canada and First Nation People.
